Prism backdrops are 100% cotton.
Today there are various materials available for backdrops - vinyl, paper, polyester, etc.
And cotton backdrops do have issues - frustrating wrinkles, background light bleeding through the weave pattern, staining, dust collection, etc.
But for the best images, nothing photographs as well as 100% cotton.
Prism backdrops are 150GSM.
Most cotton backdrops sold today are 120GSM (grams per square meter).
Ravelli finds 120GSM to be too thin and so instead uses in a thicker 150GSM weight.
Prism backdrops are Flocked on one side.
The Flocked surface reflects significantly less light and gives a softer look when photographed.
Flocked cotton will collect dust more easily and the fibers can shed or "pearl" in little balls.
But again, flocked cotton simply photographs better.
Prism backdrops use premium dyes for whiter whites, blacker blacks, and true colors.
Prism Backdrops by Ravelli are Pre-shrunk.
Washing will not result in additional shrinkage.
Both original and pre-shrunk sizes are stated.
The sides of the backdrops are stitched to avoid unravelling and a 3.4" rod pocket is sewn into the top.
Each backdrop is folded and comes in a plastic bag inside a cardboard box.
Prism makes only 100% cotton,150GSM weight, Flocked backdrops.
Flocked cotton backdrops require extra effort for best results.
But they simply photograph better than any other option.
