What s wrong with conventional turmeric? These days, the benefits of turmeric are well-known, but they can be compromised by mishandling or poor processing before it gets to the consumer. In the last 5 years, the FDA has recalled inferior imported brands for Lead Contamination and the presence of Salmonella. Other brands contain fillers and additives, and may have undergone a harmful process called "ionization radiation" in order to extend shelf-life and kill bacteria.
