The Monkey Balance Board is designed to encourage physical activity by improving balance, coordination, and leg strength. To use it, kids can stand with one foot on either side of the board. Put one foot on the board before carefully adding the other and attempting to balance by shifting your weight from side to side. For fun and encouragement, the board is decorated with a playful purple monkey graphic on the surface that s sure to invite children of all ages to step aboard and try to balance.
Formed of lightweight yet sturdy plywood, the Monkey Balance Board consists of four pieces held together by six screws. Once the basic assembly is complete, the board can support weight in excess of 200 pounds. Suitable for indoor or outdoor use, the board features a laminate coating on the surface to protect the monkey graphic from wear and tear.
In testing, the Monkey Balance Board performed as described. Assembly took only a few minutes, and our testers (weighing as much as 200 pounds) found the board strong, supportive, and easy to use. However, the simple nature of balancing may cause some users to become bored after a few minutes of use. Still, younger children may find the activity useful for emulating skateboarding, surfing, and other activities they re too young for.
